Cornwell Manor Wedding Film | Laura & Alex's Three-Day Cotswolds Summer Wedding
Cornwell Manor is a private estate near Chipping Norton in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, and one of the most sought-after wedding venues in the region. This is the story of Laura and Alex’s three-day summer wedding there — and what it’s really like to get married at Cornwell.
What is it like to have a wedding at Cornwell Manor?
Cornwell Manor gives you the feeling of getting married abroad while staying in the English countryside. The estate is set in a quiet Cotswolds valley with honey-stone buildings, manicured gardens, and rolling views in every direction. You get the venue entirely to yourselves, which means no rigid timings, no other events running alongside yours, and the freedom to shape the weekend exactly how you want. For Laura and Alex, that meant a relaxed Friday welcome, a full Saturday celebration for 143 guests, and a gentle Sunday wind-down — all without leaving the estate.

Can you have a multi-day wedding at Cornwell Manor?
Yes, and it’s one of the things that makes Cornwell stand out. Laura and Alex hosted their friends and family across three days, with everyone staying on the estate. The exclusive-use arrangement means you can plan welcome drinks on the Friday, the main wedding on the Saturday, and a relaxed gathering on the Sunday. It creates a weekend-long celebration rather than a single-day event, and it gives the couple real time with their guests.

What is the ceremony like at All Saints Church near Cornwell?
Laura and Alex’s ceremony was held at All Saints Church in Cornwell, a short walk from the Manor. It’s a classic English country church with an intimate feel — stone walls, beautiful light, and enough character to make the ceremony feel rooted and meaningful. After the service, guests walked back to the Manor for the drinks reception, confetti, and photographs in the golden Cotswolds light.

What does a typical wedding day look like at Cornwell Manor?
Laura and Alex’s day ran as follows: bridal party getting ready at the Manor from 8.30am, the groom and groomsmen heading to a nearby pub before the ceremony, a 1.30pm church ceremony at All Saints, drinks and photographs back at Cornwell from 3pm, confetti, a seated wedding breakfast at 5pm, cocktail hour in the walled garden at 7.30pm, and a first dance at 8.30pm followed by a live band and sparklers with the bridal party. The day had a natural, unhurried flow — one of the real benefits of having the venue to yourselves.

How many guests can Cornwell Manor accommodate?
Laura and Alex hosted 143 guests for their Saturday celebration. The estate has multiple spaces that work for both the ceremony and reception, as well as accommodation on-site for close family and the wedding party.

Laura and Alex’s Story
Laura and Alex first crossed paths at a pub in Fulham in 2018, but they properly connected the following summer at Wilderness Festival — where Laura’s tent ended up right next to Alex and his mates. He asked her out on the last day. She didn’t take him up on it. It took a mutual friend in New York giving Laura a stern talking-to, a global pandemic removing all excuses not to reply to his texts, and a proposal in a quiet Parisian park during the 2024 Olympics before they ended up here.
Cornwell was the first venue they visited, and nothing else came close. Laura grew up in the area and had always had it on her radar. What made this day particularly moving was the spirit behind it. Laura lost her mother earlier that year, and her mum had wanted the wedding to be a big celebration of love and life. That spirit carried through every moment — from Laura’s speech during drinks, to her father on the dance floor, to the sparklers at the end of the night. The couple describe themselves as kind, fun-loving, and grateful, and that’s exactly how the day felt.
