Mayfair London wedding

When I first met Fenella and Henry for a coffee, it was a really beautiful day. We were able to sit outside in the sun whilst we got to know each other better. I knew then that this wedding was going to be special.

Having met at school, it was clear that these two had a long history and that their lives were irrevocably entwined. As Henry said in his speech, the two have “grown up together”, having overcome a long distance period in their relationships to end up here today, celebrating their relationship.

Given Fenella’s Scottish family lineage, it was only fitting that they officially tie the knot at the beautiful St Columba’s Church of Scotland in Chelsea, where their guests were greeted by Fenella’s cousin on the bagpipes. After a lovely and happy ceremony, the couple and their guests went on to The Cavalry and Guards Club for their reception. This made for a perfect location, given its proximity to Green Park which provided a beaut backdrop for a couple shoot.

The evening unfolded in complete madness – with band ‘The Velvet Notes’ ensuring everybody got up on the dance floor – and culminated in a crowdsurfing bride (a first for me).

This really was a stunning wedding celebrating two people that are clearly perfect for each other, and the amazing outfits, details and the touching words from the speeches make this one of my favourite films to date. Several months after completing the film, I was thrilled to be informed that it had been voted Best Wedding Film in the international Filmconvert 2019 awards.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Cavalry and Guards Club a good setting for a wedding film?

The Cavalry and Guards Club is one of Mayfair’s most historic private members’ clubs. Its proximity to Green Park creates a rare opportunity for outdoor couple portraits in central London, while the interior — formal dining rooms, portraits, and period detail — gives the film a distinctly London character that few venues can match.

Do you film weddings in central London?

Yes. London is one of my most regular coverage areas. City weddings demand a discreet, adaptable approach — navigating formal venues, coordinating with photographers, and capturing genuine emotion in formal settings. It’s a different rhythm to countryside filming, and one I enjoy.

How do you handle filming both a church ceremony and a private club reception in one day?

Planning and communication are everything. Before the day I’ll always look at both locations, understand the travel logistics between them, and discuss positioning with the photographer. The goal is to ensure nothing is missed during transitions and that both settings are covered with the same level of care.
