A Classic Claridge’s Hotel Wedding
Elegant London Celebration in the heart of Mayfair
Stepping into the iconic London Hotel for Katie and James’ Claridge’s wedding felt like entering a scene from a classic romance novel. The day blended timeless elegance, heartfelt emotion, and celebration against London’s most prestigious hotel backdrop.
Katie & James – Their Story
Katie and James met through Facebook messaging while James was on holiday in Dubai, visiting his best man Jack. It took three months for them to finally go on a first date at Madison rooftop bar in London. They share a son named Leo.
“We met after James messaged me on Facebook whilst he was in Dubai on holiday visiting his best man Jack. It took 3 months for us to go on a first date… luckily on his last attempt we finally met up.”
Why Claridge’s? The Dream Venue
The couple chose to marry at the nearby Farm Street Church, a beautiful Catholic venue in Mayfair, before celebrating at Claridge’s. They prepared in separate suites at the hotel, before coming together for the reception in the Drawing Room and Ballroom — with speeches, dinner, and dancing to live music from The White Keys.
“We chose Claridges as it’s a world-famous, beautiful hotel and we wanted the wow factor for us and our guests… We also fell in love with the décor of the two adjoining rooms.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What is it like filming a wedding at Claridge’s?
Claridge’s is one of the most visually rich venues in London. The Art Deco interiors, the Drawing Room, and the Ballroom all offer exceptional natural and architectural light. The challenge is maintaining a discreet presence while capturing the grandeur of the space — something that requires a calm, unhurried approach to coverage.
How do you film discreetly at a luxury London hotel wedding?
Luxury hotel weddings often have strict protocols about movement and positioning. I keep kit compact, avoid directing guests unless absolutely necessary, and work around the natural flow of events rather than imposing a structure on them. The result is coverage that feels observed rather than staged.
Is a ceremony at Farm Street Church and reception at Claridge’s a common combination?
Farm Street Church in Mayfair is a beautiful Catholic church and a popular pairing with Claridge’s, given both are within walking distance in the heart of Mayfair. The contrast between the solemnity of the ceremony and the glamour of the reception creates a natural dramatic arc for the film.
